Vikings fans, citizens and constituents, this Thursday, December 3rd from 3-6 is your time to come out in support of your Minnesota Vikings! Its time for us to show the Legislature that we need the 13,400 jobs a new stadium creates, the 1.3 billion dollar economic output and 35 million in annual tax revenue generated to help kick start the Minnesota economy and keep the Minnesota Vikings here, in MINNESOTA!
WHAT SavetheVikes.org holds its second Fan Rally to urge legislators to take action on a stadium solution that keeps the Vikings in Minnesota while creating thousands of jobs.
WHO
- A large, lively collection of fans and voters
- Color Guard (National Anthem)
- Vikings’ Alumni including Bob Lurtsema
- MN State Legislature Representative(s)
- Founder Cory Merrifield and members of SavetheVikes.org
- Other Special guests and local media
WHERE State Capitol Front Steps, St. Paul, Minnesota
WHEN Thursday, December 3rd, 3-6pm
WHY The Vikings are an important cultural and economic resource that brings entertainment, revenue and pride to the state. A new stadium will keep the team in Minnesota while attracting other high profile events.
While these are challenging economic times, a new stadium is an investment that will generate thousands of jobs and additional tax revenue.
Thank you in advance for your presence, and common courtesy to others at the event. Please no foul language or obscene behavior. Please refrain from littering or damaging the State property in any way. Let’s show the rest of the State that Vikings fans are passionate, classy and respectful! Please plan to attend, and if you can’t attend, spread the word so others can! Bring your Vikings flags and signs!
Hope to see you there!

I’m a huge viking fan living in las vegas, originally from new york city. I’ve been a fan since 93 and most ppl would think that i would want them to move to LA. But on the contrary, I want them to stay in Minnesota. It’s where they belong, they fit there! Let alone I dont see many Vikings surfing and getting tans on Venice Beach. Keep the Vikings in Minnesota, respect the team and the fans by building a stadium that could possibly host super bowls to come!
I think they should tear down Brookdale Mall and build the stadium there.
I couldn’t care less about a Super Bowl being played here again but I never want the Vikes to leave. Having a Super Bowl in Minnesota again would not affect me in anyway. Not even once in a while do I think back to having the Super Bowl here in the ealry 90′s. What I do want is a stadium built that will help us get back to multiple Super Bowls. For that we need to move back outside. The Met got us to 4 Super Bowls, we then moved inside for about 30 years and have been to zero Super Bowls. What would we do on Sunday afternoons in the fall and winter. If we are going to build a stadium we should do it the right way and ditch the roof idea. The Minnesota Vikings belong OUTSIDE! If the Vikes ever do go to a Super Bowl again, I would love to go to it and have fun. Having a SB in Minnesota would be a drag and we all know it.
Everyone else can figure out how to build a stadium in the NFL. Why can’t our politicians? Keep the Vikings in Minnesota forever! The Wilfs are committed to the Vikings’ best interests, the fans love the Vikes, why can’t our politicians see the importance (and the possible economic boost)? I pledge my vote for the incumbents in the next election if we get a new stadium! I pledge to vote against them if we ever lose the team!
I am currently living in LA and I was born a Vikings fan, in 47 years I never once ever thought of calling another team my team or considered a 2nd favorite team, I don’t know if I will live out the rest of my life here in LA or not, but I do know that the Vikings need to stay in Minnesota at all cost, the history of this great team must be preserved in Minnesota, they were borned there and need to stay there.
I was born in MN and lived there until I was 12- Since then, I have lived in Iowa, Missouri, AZ and for the last 13 years TN. I began watching the Vikings as a child in the 60′s and remain a huge Vikings Fan. As a matter of fact, my family and I were in MN for the Baltimore game and we “left” several thousand dollars in the state during that time. Incidentally, on the plane from Chicago to MN I saw probably 15 to 20 Baltimore fans with us (who probably dropped several K apiece as well). I plan to attend a least one game per year in MN and if they move I will not be visiting the state again……thus will no longer be contributing any $ to the MN coffers…. I am not sure how the legislature plans to fund the stadium (if at all) but if they choose to do it in a “creative manner” i.e. slot machines, rental car tax- I would go out of my way when I was in town to contribute (and I dislike slots…not gambling but slots) as that is how strongly I feel about keeping that great institution where it belongs…. Anyway, if the Vikes leave I will not return and I will keep my hard earned $ in Tennessee. If your legislature looked at this “logically” and not based on emotion and I am sure they would find a way to get this done– as it make sense on many different levels. Keep up the good fight!
I’m a junior in high school that’s located within Minnesota. Every year during the football season we get together at a house and watch the Vikings play. Whether we had school the next day or not, whether we had homework or not, we were dedicated to watching the game. Minnesota football brings together young, old, women, children and friends together to enjoy watching the Vikings play. Especially this year when our record is currently 10 – 1. If we will have to lose the Vikings, what will we Minnesotans do on those Sunday football games? Sit at home and watch the “California Vikings” play? I don’t think so, I’m hoping and spreading the word of this site as much as possible. I want to keep this tradition going, and for the younger generations to have the chance of experiencing the magnificence of Minnesota Vikings football.
