Winfield will be looking to make a zero of Ocho Cinco
And not a moment too soon! after missing the last 6 games due to injury, NFL News is reporting Pro Bowl CB Antoine Winfield will be starting Sunday against the Bengals.
After seeing how bad our defense was destroyed against the pass last week, he is a sight for sore eyes! Winfield has 30 tackles and one interception in six games this season. We could use that help in the secondary against the Bengal’s pass happy offense.
The Vikings have been hit recently with the injury bug. Herrera is out, Shiancoe and Harvin are questionable and the recent season ending injury to E.J. Henderson has started to poke holes in this iron clad squad.
Certainly having Winfield back will help step up the level of play in the secondary with guys feeling confident knowing he is back there.

CORRECTION! Herrera played yesterday and clearly the running game benefited! As I mentioned on the KFAN post game show, we missed Percy Harvin’s finishing touches. That is the difference between 30-10 and 37-10. Ok, I’m splitting hairs but the Vikings are the first team in 2 months to rush more then 100 yards against the NFL’s 4th best defense. And how about an obligatory golf clap for Antoine Winfield coming back after missing 6 weeks and putting up 9 tackles and a forced fumble!
