Last week we emailed you asking to email the Capitol. While we had several people email, we still had a set back. Unfortunately the House bill for the Vikings was defeated by 10-9. One of the no votes that could have passed this: Gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer.
This reinforces my opinion that if it isn’t passed this year, it won’t happen. And we all know what happens next. Just ask North Star fans and Minneapolis Lakers fans.
While the Vikings are still fighting hard with their bill in the Senate, we need to support them by emailing our state leaders!
And in the event they can’t get a bill passed this session, SavetheVikes.org along with a large group of fan supporters are rallying to plan B.
We have started an internet petition (iPetition) and a Fan page on Facebook. If we can get 10,000 people to “like” the fan page in conjunction with the people who sign the iPetition we will call a press conference at the state Capitol DEMANDING the Governor call a special session to resolve the Vikings stadium issue!
Spread the word - Call, email, Tweet, post to Facebook and MySpace, hang banners on bridges, or send a carrier pigeon if you have to! In just one day we have had over 1,000 people sign up! If we are going to have a chance, we need to get to 4,000 over the weekend.
It’s your time to shine people! I am only as strong as your collective voice. It’s now or never for the Vikings! Please help before it is too late!
SavetheVikes.org is a grassroots, nonpartisan group dedicated to getting the Vikings a new home in Minnesota. The group is open to many forms of stadium solutions and financing, and does not advocate a specific agenda. SavetheVikes is for the fans & by the fans. This group is not affiliated with any company, the Vikings or political organization.

I cannot believe that it appears politicians will be sending the Vikings packing to California, a team on the verge of winning the Super Bowl. A team supported BY the people (sound familiar) who have been trying for forty years. These people who supposedly represent the wants and needs of the people have failed and should be kicked out of office, what a disgrace. Most of the people in the U.S. don’t know where their tax dollars end up WHY the bickering over something over half of Minnesota wants, 7,500 new jobs, billions in revenue. Politicians who vote no will never be forgotten, truly what goes around comes around. The crybabies who say “education is going to suffer” well I was educated in one of those “old” buildings and went on to do PhD work. It’s not the building, but teachers who care that make the difference in education. Can you imagine living in Minnesota without the Vikings? The Vikings were part of my education. No matter how you slice it the bottom line is the Vikings could be moving because of a few strokes of the pen, what a power trip. How many of these politicians who voted no have turned on the tube on Sunday to watch the Vikings? They could and should be flipping burgers next election.
Where can we go to track the progress of this petition and “Likes” on facebook
C’mon!!!! Everyone join in here and Help Save The Vikings and GET A NEW STADIUM BUILT!!!!
